4 weeks!

Kind of tough to believe that Luca is 4 weeks old today!  As I sit here...I have vomit on my shoulder and Luca is making faces and sounds at Mom.  Kind of nice to compare his picture with Big Toe from a few weeks ago.  We can definitely see that he is growing!  I'll take some measurements tomorrow and post his new stats.

Linz finally gets to meet Baby Luca.  He is currently being a monkey...but can turn into a monster at anytime.

Luca meet his Uncle and neighbor Tom Luke.

The full Parker clan meets Luca

Matt finally gets to meet Baby Luca.  Jack and Bobby were close behind and Kate is excited to see and hold Luca without his BiliBlanket!  Hard to believe that he's already 24 days old!

Party Time!

Kristine:  34 years old.  Luca:  21 days old.  It was a Tiffany's holiday at the Jackson/Moberg house.  Luca received a beautiful sterling silver baby cup, engraved with his initials and birthday from our great friends Gina and Tom in New York.  Kristine got a white gold and aquamarine ring from Mitch and Luca!  Aquamarine happens to be both Luca's and Kristine's birthstone!  We are so blessed this birthday.  It is Mitch and Kristine's 10th celebration of her birthday together.  Who would have thought that after her 34th birthday dinner...of waffles at home...that Mitch would do dishes and Kristine would feed and burp the baby!
It was truly a great day and we are really blessed to be together.

Tinguely Family meets Luca!

Jen, Joe and Eleanor came to our house tonight for dinner and a little Luca time!  We have started to set up Luca and Eleanor for their future dating experience.  Looks like Eleanor will be dating a younger man...but only slightly younger.

Tummy Time

Baby Luca getting a little "doctor recommended" time on his belly.  I know it seems a little early, but he was already holding his head up for a little bit at 2 weeks old and is trying to roll over at only 18 days old!  What a strong little man we've got!  I think that he'll be running around the house and bakery in no time.  Not gonna lie...that frightens me a little bit.

3.16.2011

Luca's first real doctor visit

2-week checkup.  Luca now weighs 7 lbs.13 oz.  Measures 21" and has a head circumference of 14".  He has grown in every area!
Everything great with the doctor visit.  Next visit:  2 months old!

3.15.2011

Waiting for mom to choose prints

Now that the camera is off of him, Luca has cast his fussy behavior aside.  Come on mom...hurry up!  We gotta go to Target to get me some more diapers!

Luca's first photo shoot

We decided to let Luca get comfortable in front of the camera...as we know he's gonna be a star someday soon.  We brought him to Harold's photo to get started with his portfolio and head shots.  Will post some pics as soon as we get them from the professionals.

Day off

Luca and Daddy sleeping in on Tuesday morning.  Yeah, it's after 9!

Bed time routine...

He loved the TummyTub tonight...no video yet because camera batteries are dead.  We'll try again tomorrow!  Goodnight!  Don't forget to set your clocks ahead tonight.

Luca finally sits at the table

A nice family meal.

Another visit to Sanford

Luca and mom meeting with a lactation nurse to make sure he's eating correctly.  We've got a few changes to make...but only very minor ones.

3.06.2011

Early bedtime for all

Kristine and I are going to bed a little earlier than usual in hopes of getting a little more sleep tonight. Goodnight.

Aunt Liz!

Luca, Aunt Liz and BiliBlanket.  Life is good.

I love Uncles!

My first meeting with Uncle Pat.  I love Uncle Pat.

A little more family

Luca spending a little quality time with his cousins Jackson and Gavin Fischer.

First night at home

We had a good first night overall.  Nobody got much sleep...but with so much to be thankful for, who really cares.  Life is still good!  We are discovering that Luca is somewhat of a cluster feeder...for example:  1:15am he fed for 5 minutes - 2:10am another 5 minutes - 3:15 about 7 minutes.  Kristine and I both ended up getting about 2 hours of sleep last night...hopefully she'll be able to sleep today when he decides to as well.  I went down to the bakery this morning to help Amy in the kitchen with breakfast.  I didn't get down there until about 5:40 because I was tired...but everything went fine.  I'm going to try and get away from the bakery around 11:00 today and go home to check on mom and baby.  Everything is going really well though!  We love having this little man in our life!

3.04.2011

We're Home

I ran down to the bakery to do a little work this evening.  When I left, Luca fed for about 30 minutes.  Kristine said that it was a  really good feeding.  The best so far.  Kristine and I went to bed around 8:30 and left Luca and his BiliBlanket with Grandma Moberg.  We just had our first "wake up to feed the baby" episode and he ate again for another 30 minutes.  He and mom are doing such a great job of figuring this out!  Now, back to bed and maybe we'll get another 3 - 4 hours of sleep.  Maybe Luca will like his new crib better than the hospital one.  We'll see!

We're outta here!

Everything went so great with Kristine and Luca that we're not even staying another day!  Other than a little Jaundice...and a Bili blanket...everything is great.  More updates soon!

Grandma!

Luca spending some time with Grandma Moberg.  So much love!

Luca sleeps

Had a good day so far.  Luca got circumcised...and blood drawn...and shots!  He's tough, just like his mom!  Had a difficult time feeding him after his circumcision because of the tylenol they give him.  Apparently babies are always sleepy after having tylenol.  We had a lactation nurse come in and help us get him going...and he did great!  Lots of poopy diapers and now he's going to finish his nap that we had to wake him up from.  Maybe Kristine and I will get a little nap now too!

Forgot to mention

Kristine now goes by her new full name: Kristine Moberg Wonderwoman.

630 am - Day 2

Luca did well for his first night.  Not only did he receive some shots, have a hearing test, and get checked by the nurses every couple of hours...but he also slept well.  We had him in bed with us and he slept like a baby (sorry, couldn't help it).
He's nursing well and pooping and peeing often.  Just 1 more procedure today and then we're going to try to check out of the hospital today after our doctor visit.
Notice all the cups in the picture...Kristine and I are staying hydrated...water juice and now coffee.  Life is good!

3.03.2011

11:25 pm

Luca is not letting us get our rest!  Still up with him, but he's feeding/sleeping now so we might get a little break soon.  Everybody is learning how this wonderful, crazy world of the 3 of is will work itself out.

Kristine wins...

First to be peed on.  6:00pm.  Luca's age: 14.5 hours old.

13 hours

Luca is just over 13 hours old.  He is feeding better.  He knows both my and Kristine's voice.  He has met Ma and Dr. Barth as well as a cousin and an Aunt.  Kristine and I have each only slept for about 2 hours in the past 36...but life is good.

Nap time?

Kristine and I have been awake since 5am yesterday.  In that time, we have increased our family number by half again.  Vitamin K and bath for Luca...then nap time for Mitch and Kristine.

Luca meets the extended family

Baby Luca with Aunt Nini.  She wanted another baby...buy not for real.  Just to smell him.  :)

What a pair!

Luca and Dad

635am

Luca Robert Moberg Jackson born at 3:33 am weighing 7 lbs. 7 oz. on Thursday, March 3.

Delivery

Did I mention that Kristine and I had this baby without the use of any drugs.  Nothing for inducing.  Nothing for contractions.  Nothing for pushing.  We only had each other...I couldn't be more proud of Kristine and baby.  They both did AMAZING!

Stats

7 lbs.7 oz.   20.5"  Good latch.  Everything is great!

Queen City's Prince

Born at 3:33 on 3/3.  Details to follow!

219am

We're pushing.

1245am

Still in labor.  Contractions are only about 3.5 minutes apart now.  Definitely more discomfort and pain for Kristine now.  She's getting more and more vocal with every contraction.  Lots of burns too!  That's a good sign!  That's all for now.

3.02.2011

11:45 pm

Contractions are getting stronger.  We're out of the whirlpool now and laying on the bed.  Kristine is resting the best she can between contractions.  We were told that this is a marathon and not a sprint....Kristine said during one of her contractions "why doesn't anyone say how hard this is!".  More to come as it is available and I'm available to blog it.

We're officially committed...admitted

Whirlpool tub in room makes a nice relaxing time for Kristine and baby.  Contractions have continued to become more frequent, stronger and longer in duration.  Earlier today...at about 5:00 Kristine was dilated to about a 3.5.  When checked for admittance at 9:20 she was a 4 which is a great number to be at!  Should progress about 1cm per hour or so from now on.  Kristine is doing so great...I can't believe how proud of her I am and how unbelievable she is!

Hospital visit part two

Back at Sanford Hospital.  This time we're not leaving without our son!

Back at home

Kristine is dilated to about a 3.5...with contractions happening about every 5 minutes.  We decided to come home to continue labor and will go back to the hospital when contractions are a little closer together.  Will keep you all posted.

Walking the halls

Waiting for another hour before being monitored again.  Kristine in het sexy new outfit!

At the hospital...part 1

Contractions were inconsistent...but Dr. Nelson wanted us to come in because of the low fluid thing.  Kristine is hooked up to an NST machine again...things look pretty normal.  Might be admitted...might go home.  We'll keep you posted.
